About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, the successful candidate will provide mechanical reliability engineering support to the fixed plant maintenance department. The role is to provide specialized engineering expertise in the areas of compliance, defect elimination, asset performance improvements and condition monitoring.

Responsibilities include:

• development of maintenance strategies and tactics using FMCEA & RCM methodologies including PM optimization;
• ownership of the asset performance reporting system and processes, including data review and management;
• key stakeholder in the asset condition monitoring program, including input into the asset health program;
• lead defect elimination investigations and effectively manage the assigned failure’s/defects. Including defect assessment/prioritization, RCA facilitation, action assignment and change management
• be the focal point for mechanical technical guidance within the fixed plant maintenance support team, providing input into key decisions on asset condition, strategy, process control and project scoping; and
• provide the fixed plant maintenance department with engineering troubleshooting & mentoring support either directly or by coordinating the input of engineering specialists

About the Candidate

• tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering with additional qualifications in reliability & condition monitoring will be viewed favourably;
• a collaborative team player, who openly supports the groups Reliability initiatives and systems of work;
• familiarity with fixed plant assets and materials handling systems. Including crushers, conveyors, pumps and screens;
• knowledge of maintenance strategy & tactics, development and problem solving;
• proficiency with condition monitoring techniques including vibration analysis, oil analysis and ultrasonic testing;
• previous experience in the application of reliability methods and techniques gained within relevant industry, including RCA facilitation, RCM application and FMEA/FMECA development; and
• knowledge and understanding of Australian Standards, plus industrial safety, engineering standards and codes.
