Mine Site Cleaner – With Leading Hand Experience

We are currently seeking an experienced Mine Site Cleaner with Leading Hand experience who takes pride in their work and is ready and able to carry out a diverse range of duties in accordance with the quality, health, safety, and environmental standards of our team.

 

This is a hands-on role that combines cleaning duties with leadership responsibilities, supporting the coordination and performance of the broader cleaning team across site facilities.

 

 

About the candidate:

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

 

  • prior experience in a professional cleaning role;
  • Proven experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory capacity, with the ability to guide and support team members;
  • a sound understanding of safe work practices;
  • knowledge of safe chemical handling practices;
  • a willingness to contribute toward the success of your team while supporting a positive team culture;
  • be flexible and able to assist in other areas as required; and
  • reside or be prepared to relocate to within 30 minutes drive of the Greenbushes Talison Lithium Operation.

 

Specific duties:

 

  • maintain high standards of cleanliness in designated work areas, in line with established area work procedures;
  • carry out manual tasks utilising good manual handling techniques;
  • contribute to a safe environment when undertaking duties ensuring equipment is not obscuring exits or passageways;
  • use appropriate chemicals correctly in accordance with manufacturers specifications, Safety Data sheets and monitor their effectiveness;
  • maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials; and
  • notify the Coordinator of any occurring deficiencies or repairs to buildings and or equipment.

 

Leading Hand Responsibilities:

 

In addition to the above duties, the Leading Hand will also:

 

  • oversee and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the cleaning team;
  • allocate tasks and monitor team performance to ensure cleaning standards and schedules are met;
  • provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and support for new or less experienced cleaners;
  • ensure all team members comply with safety procedures and site rules;
  • act as the primary point of contact for the team in relation to daily operations, escalating issues to the Site Services Coordinator where required; and
  • assist with rostering and planning team coverage during leave periods or high-demand times.

 

 

Competencies:

 

  • Current Manual Drivers Licence mandatory.
