About the Role:

Reporting to the Social Performance and Sustainability Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellence in community relations services for the Greenbushes site operations. This role will shape and lead community engagement activities and initiatives, ensuring they align with Talison Lithium’s strategic objectives. The Community Relations Superintendent is a key position at Talison Lithium that will influence policy, guide best practice, and drive service delivery across the Site.

 

Responsibilities include:

The Community Relations Superintendent will be responsible for leading and managing community and stakeholder engagement activities at the Greenbushes site, ensuring alignment with Talison Lithium’s strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • provide visible leadership and supervision to the Community team, ensuring staff are trained and performance assessed;
  • advise and support the business on community issues, heritage matters, and stakeholder relations;
  • prepare the annual business plan, including objectives, targets, operating, and capital budgets;
  • review operating and capital costs, reporting monthly on variances to plan;
  • develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to build consensus with the community, industry, government, and other stakeholders;
  • define formal and informal stakeholder communication channels and ensure staff are adequately prepared;
  • coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors to achieve project approval timelines;
  • manage community and stakeholder events, including presentations, meetings, information sessions, open days, public displays, and briefings;
  • enhance organisational reputation and promote strategic objectives;
  • handle and resolve complaints in line with community and company standards;
  • liaise with project and mining teams to understand resultant community impacts;
  • develop strategies to address barriers to effective engagement and ensure stakeholder satisfaction; and
  • advise, communicate, consult, and engage with key stakeholders including community members, schools, government agencies, and service providers.

 

About the Candidate:

  • Tertiary degree in Social Performance, Stakeholder Engagement, or a related discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in community or stakeholder engagement;
  • practical understanding of negotiation and conflict resolution;
  • ability to prioritise, schedule, and manage work effectively;
  • highly developed interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • high level of computer literacy.
