About the Role

Reporting to the Category Lead, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high quality contract management support across the business. This role is responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing a wide range of contracts, ensuring all agreements meet legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.

You will partner closely with cross‑functional teams, including project managers, procurement and internal legal counsel to minimise risk, optimise commercial outcomes and support operational goals. The position is well suited to someone who is confident working autonomously, with experience in mining or heavy industry.

Responsibilities include:

• draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts;
• support category stakeholders across operations;
• lead negotiations with suppliers and contractors to secure strong commercial outcomes;
• ensure contracts comply with Australian legislation, industry standards and company policies;
• identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks;
• post award management of various contracts models;
• maintain accurate contract documentation and reporting;
• support the ongoing improvement processes of the commercial function; and
• provide guidance to internal teams and escalate complex matters when needed.

About the Candidate:

• degree in Commerce, Law or a related field, or equivalent commercial contracting experience;
• 10+ years’ experience in contract management, procurement or similar;
• strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts;
• solid understanding of contract law principles and commercial terms;
• excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation skills;
• high attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
• proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with contract management systems is an advantage;
• ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with stakeholders;
• able to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively; and
• proactive, solutions focused and committed to ongoing development.
