About the Role

Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, the successful candidate will ensure the capture of geological data within the Greenbushes Operations to support daily mine grade control operations and Mineral Resource Estimates. And to ensure the data is valid and auditable and to run quality assurance and quality control programs to maintain data standards and integrity.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • carry out QAQC checks on incoming data and report and act on irregularities;
  • capture data into geological and geographic databases;
  • create and maintain database data entry objects and templates to control and ensure correct and complete data capture by geology staff;
  • continuous improvement of data capture and export systems and their automation;
  • administration of the cloud based download survey portal;
  • supply geological, geochemical and geotechnical data exports to Company personnel to support technical studies;
  • allocate licensing for geological database software; and
  • liaise with, assist and/or second in mining, exploration and project geologist role(s) if/where required in a short-term support capacity.

 

About the Candidate:

  • tertiary qualifications in Geology with industry experience of geological and data processes or relevant industry experience in a similar role required;
  • self-motivated to complete all expected and assigned tasks;
  • understanding of analysis and interpretation of geological data;
  • possesses an eye for detail and has a careful and thorough approach to data management;
  • awareness of and ability to interpret mine safety regulations; and
  • solid understanding of data quality assurance and quality control practices (QAQC).
