About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Services Officer to join our Emergency Services team and provide professional emergency response and medical support across the Greenbushes Operation.
This is an opportunity for a proactive emergency professional to apply their experience and knowledge to support the emergency response capability, training activities and operational readiness across site.
Working an 8:6 / 7:7 roster on 12-hour day and night shifts, this role provides an opportunity to be part of a high-performing team within a growing operation. Village accommodation is available for employees requiring onsite accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
The Emergency Services Officer will:
- Coordinate emergency response activities and provide operational support to the Emergency Response Team during emergency incidents.
- Maintain emergency response readiness through equipment inspections, training, drills and competency assurance.
- Coordinate emergency exercises, evacuations and scenario-based training activities.
- Provide emergency medical response, primary healthcare support and patient transfers where required.
- Maintain occupational health and emergency medical competencies, including S4 and S8 medication management in accordance with site poisons permit requirements.
- Support the recruitment, mentoring and development of Emergency Response Team members.
- Develop and deliver ERT training programs and competency assessments.
- Participate in incident investigations, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review and update emergency response procedures, guidelines and work instructions.
- Support contractor emergency response reviews and site improvement initiatives.
- Conduct drug and alcohol screening and monitor emergency communication systems.
About the Candidate:
The successful candidate will be an experienced Emergency Services Officer who can operate independently, respond effectively in emergency situations and work collaboratively with operational teams and volunteer Emergency Response Team members.
The following qualifications and competencies are essential to the role:
- Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue;
- Certificate IV in Healthcare or higher qualification;
- HLTPAT010 or HLTPAT005 - Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing;
- Current HR-B (manual) Drivers Licence;
- Current National Police Clearance.
The following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment.
- Confined Space Entry and Gas Test Atmospheres.
- Elevated Work Platform or other High Risk Work Licences.
- Emergency management qualifications or related industry experience.
The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
- Minimum two years’ experience in emergency response, occupational health or a similar role within mining, resources, heavy industry or emergency services environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
- A reliable work ethic, a safety-first mindset and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience working with mining operations, processing plants or industrial environments.
