About the Role:

 

The Greenbushes Talison Lithium Operation is located in a unique residential setting, near the town of Greenbushes. Talison Lithium holds the world’s largest and second largest deposits of Lithium and is situated 15 minutes from Bridgetown, a major South West Regional Centre. 

The ESO roles will provide advice, assistance, guidance, and support to line management on all Emergency Services activities and issues relevant to the Talison site. This is an opportunity to have a personal and professional influence on an ESO role as we transition through the ramp up stage. Your knowledge and experience are valued, and of critical importance to Talison.

The role is based at our Greenbushes Talison Lithium Operation, on an 8:6 / 7:7 roster (12hr shifts, dayshift and nightshift). Village Accomodation is on offer.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Dencourage the recruitment of ERT members;
  • maintain rescue & medical equipment, performing weekly / monthly checks;
  • maintain ESO-specific rescue & medical skillsets;
  • provide customer focused emergency services;
  • design & facilitate ERT training sessions per schedule;
  • conduct drug and alcohol monitoring;
  • conduct site security checks & report non-conformances as required;
  • emergency response activities relating to ESO and ERT shift requirements;
  • conduct and report on periodic emergency drills & exercises across site;
  • facilitate evacuation drills across site;
  • participate in incident investigations to achieve root cause analysis outcomes;
  • monitor the site emergency phone/radio system and respond to emergency situations;
  • take part in system, verification & compliance audits against recognised performance standards;
  • take part in audits of contractor OHS systems - emergency preparedness performance standards;
  • review and update emergency response procedures, guidelines and work instructions;
  • review high risk work rescue plans and provide in-field coaching;
  • participate in emergency response and occupational health skills maintenance and training;
  • patient transfers from site to offsite medical care;
  • S4 and S8 medication handovers;
  • be registered on the poisons permit and comply to all processes, policies and legislation required by the poisons permit owner; and
  • Provide & deliver primary health care treatment and emergency medical care to Talison & Contract employees in the event of injury or illness.

 

About the Candidate:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and competencies:

  • Certificate III Mines Rescue & Emergency;
  • Certificate IV in Healthcare;
  • Combined Space Entry/Gas test;
  • HLPAT005 - Accredited Drug and Alcohol Screening;
  • CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations (preferred);
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (preferred);
  • Level 1 Incident Controller (preferred); 
  • Leadership training (preferred); and
  • AIMMS training (preferred)

 

The successful candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with surface mining and processing operations in a similar role;
  • Working knowledge of WA WHS Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022;
  • Knowledge of mining and resource practices, processing plants (essential);
  • Reliable work ethic and excellent communication skills.
  • Stability and tenure in past roles highly regarded;
  • Current HR Drivers Licence (Essential); and
  • Computer proficiency of Microsoft Office suite.
