About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Exploration Project Geologist, the successful candidate will carry out a range of field and office functions to support successful geological outcomes. This is a full-time residential role on a 7:7 roster working a nominal 42 hour-week, with the weekly blocks alternating between day and night shift.

The primary responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

• geological markups;
• blast pattern mapping and sampling;
• ore spotting during excavation;
• liaising with drill and earthmoving contractors;
• maintaining geology stores, vehicles and equipment;
• documenting and recording of geological data;
• conducting any other activity as directed by Senior Mine Geologist; and
• providing effective handovers to other pit technicians.

About the Candidate

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

• a proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to safety;
• a willingness to contribute toward the success of your team while supporting a positive team culture;
• strong and effective communication skills;
• computer literacy;
• previous geological or pit technician experience (desirable);
• forklift license (desirable);
• C class driver's licence; and
• the legal right to live and work in Australia.
