About the Role 
We are looking for safety focused, adaptable, hands-on and positive individual with a can-do attitude to join the team as a Geotechnical Engineer. This is a permanent, full-time position, working an attractive residential roster (8 days on, 6 days off). Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

•     assisting in the development and maintenance of reliable and predictive geotechnical systems to capture necessary information and provide proactive input into maintaining safe mining operations;
•     geotechnical data collection and validation;
•     recognition, investigation, analysis and effective communication of rock fall events and ground control issues;
•     daily production tasks including documented geotechnical inspections of all mining areas, management of slope stability monitoring systems, input to wall control blast designs, input to the mine production schedule, operational support to the mining contractors;
•     risk assessment and geotechnical hazard management;
•     ground support design and QAQC;
•     contractor management and supervision of geotechnical field projects;
•     input to the geotechnical assessments of pit and waste dump designs; and
•     conformance to the site Ground Control Management Plan and all legislative requirements. 

About the Candidate

•     a proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to safety;
•     the legal right to live and work in Australia;
•     tertiary qualifications in Engineering, specifically Geotechnical study;
•     minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience in Geotechnical Engineering role or significant Mining Engineering / Geology experience;
•     understanding of geotechnical design and civil construction projects with an emphasis on geotechnical mapping and investigations, monitoring systems, ground support calculations / design and stability analysis;
•     strong interpersonal and communication skills;
•     strong computer literacy, with emphasis on mining and geotechnical software; and
•     must reside or be prepared to relocate to within 60 minutes’ drive of the Greenbushes Lithium Operation accommodation options avaliable..
