About the Role:

 

Reporting to the Superintendent – Work Health and Safety (Operations), the successful candidate will provide leadership for Greenbushes Operations, specialising in Critical Risk Controls.  You will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating high-consequence hazards across our operations. This position requires you to develop and implement robust critical control verification processes, coordinating thorough risk assessments, and ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for activities with potential for serious injury or fatality.

This role is of crucial importance to our Greenbushes Operation and is responsible for working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Your expertise will be instrumental in preventing serious incidents by ensuring critical controls are systematically identified, implemented, maintained, and verified across all high-risk activities.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • engaging with health and safety teams to support the identification and implementation of process and performance solutions;
  • ensure critical control field verifications are completed and reviewed;
  • provide health and safety specialist advice, technical and management support;
  • analyse critical control effectiveness data, and collaborate with operational teams to continuously improve critical risk safety systems;
  • provide governance through scheduled audits and inspections of critical risk management plans, to ensure practices align with business and legislative requirements;
  • coaching leadership on critical risk management principles, and developing practical tools and resources to support frontline implementation;
  • reporting to ensure compliance with performance standards and assigned actions;
  • carrying out Critical Task Observations to verify critical risk control effectiveness; and
  •  carrying out Business Partner Control Audits to ensure our business partners understand and implement critical controls when performing high-risk activities on site.

 

 

About the Candidate:

The following qualification/s are considered desirable for this position:

  • BSB41419 Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety (essential);
  • BSBSS00128 Lead Auditor Skill Set (preferred);
  • BSBWHS614 Conduct a WHS audit under the guidance of a lead auditor (essential);
  • RIIRIS301E - Apply risk management processes (essential); and
  • RIIWHS301D – Conduct safety and health investigations (preferred);
