About the Role
The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) is a trusted and strategic partner to business leaders, responsible for aligning people strategies with Talison Lithium Pty Ltd’s (Talison, Company) operational goals and values. Reporting to the Superintendent – Workplace Relations, the HRBP acts as the visible and credible point of contact for leaders and employees across the Company, representing the People function and driving initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, culture, and workforce performance.
The HRBP connects business and employee needs with specialist areas across the People function, including recruitment, learning, remuneration, development and workplace relations, to deliver integrated and people-focused outcomes. The HRBP provides expert guidance on complex people matters while influencing decisions that support sustainable business performance and a positive employee experience.
The HRBP will play a pivotal role in embedding Talison’s Values and promoting a culture of safety, integrity, respect, and continuous improvement, fostering a workplace where every individual is treated with dignity and empowered to contribute meaningfully. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, build trusted relationships at all levels, and apply sound judgement, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of their work.
Responsibilities include:
- partner with business leaders to implement people strategies that align with Talison’s operational objectives and values;
- coach and enable leaders to build capability in performance, conduct, engagement, and change management;
- lead and support complex employee relations matters, ensuring procedural fairness and compliance with employment legislation and Company policy;
- collaborate with the Superintendent – Workplace Relations on industrial relations matters, including award and agreement interpretation;
- use HR data and workforce insights to inform decisions and identify opportunities for cultural, capability, and performance improvement;
- contribute to organisational design, workforce planning, and change initiatives;
- support initiatives that strengthen inclusion, wellbeing, and psychological safety;
- collaborate across HR functions to deliver consistent and integrated people solutions; and
- drive continuous improvement in HR practices, standards, and systems that enhance the employee experience.
About the Candidate
- bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline (required);
- minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Human Resource Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor role within a complex operational environment;
- strong knowledge of employment legislation, industrial relations frameworks, and contemporary HR policy and practice;
- proven ability to coach, influence, and build trusted relationships with leaders and employees at all levels;
- experience in employee relations, investigations, and change management;
- analytical capability to interpret HR data and provide actionable insights;
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating integrity, discretion, and empathy;
- ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team;
- current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence (required); and
- Provide First Aid certificate (desirable).
