About the Role
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the employee relations team, responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to both employees and management in all aspects of employee relations. The HR Advisor-Payroll/Generalist will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while contributing to a broad range of HR functions. This position involves supporting employee relations, overseeing performance management, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, and contributing to strategic HR initiatives. Additionally, the role provides critical support in payroll operations to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
As an HR Advisor, you will collaborate closely with the Senior HR Advisors to deliver strategic HR solutions aligned with organisational objectives, playing a vital role in promoting a positive, inclusive and compliant workplace culture. You will play a key role in championing employee engagement, supporting best-practice HR initiatives, and ensuring a high-performance environment where employees feel valued and supported. This position offers a new opportunity for a HR professional to join the Greenbushes Lithium Operations in Greenbushes, working on an attractive residential roster.
Responsibilities include:
- ensuring compliance with all relevant employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act 2009, Work Health and Safety legislation, anti-discrimination laws, privacy regulations, and other statutory obligations that govern employment conditions, workplace protections, and industrial relations;
- providing management with expert advice on legal risks and obligations related to employment practices, workplace relation and best-practice HR strategies;
- partnering with Senior HR Advisors to address disputes and grievances;
- providing HR advice and support on employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution;
- administering payroll and employee-related documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality;
- reviewing, developing, and implementing HR policies that ensure compliance with legislative requirements while promoting fairness, equity, and best-practice employee relations;
- preparing HR reports and analytics, including turnover and end-of-month data;
- collaborating with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate remuneration;
- assisting with onboarding, probation reviews, and offboarding, including conducting exit interviews;
- supporting strategic HR initiatives and contributing to fostering a positive workplace culture; and
- facilitating Right of Entry for authorised union representatives and supporting Industrial Relation practices.
About the Candidate
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and positive individual with a meticulous eye for detail to join the People and Culture team.
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- a tertiary qualification in HR and IR (desirable) with a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture;
- extensive experience in an HR Advisor role with mining industry experience highly regarded;
- strong working knowledge of HR best-practices and principles, employment relations, and employment legislation;
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships;
- a proactive approach with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail;
- experience working with HRIS and payroll systems (SAP or similar is highly regarded);
- proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word;
- a current ‘C’ class driver’ licence; and
- familiarity with Right of Entry and union engagement (highly regarded).
