About the Role
The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a trusted advisor to both business leaders and employees, delivering strategic, people-focused solutions in employee relations, workplace conduct, and compliance. Reporting to the Superintendent – Workplace Relations, the HRBP is instrumental in fostering fair, consistent, and values-driven people practices that reinforce Talison’s commitment to a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
The HRBP will play a pivotal role in embedding Talison’s Values and promoting a culture of safety, integrity, respect, and continuous improvement, fostering a workplace where every individual is treated with dignity and empowered to contribute meaningfully.
Responsibilities include:
- partner with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that align with organisational goals and foster a values-driven culture;
- provide conflict resolution and mediation support to leaders and employees, fostering effective communication and fair outcomes;
- lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary processes, and performance management, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes;
- provide trusted guidance to leaders on workplace conduct, team dynamics, organisational change, and strategies to motivate and engage their teams effectively;
- uphold procedural fairness and compliance with employment legislation, industrial agreements, and company policies;
- proactively identify and mitigate people-related risks that may impact compliance, culture, safety, or organisational reputation;
- analyse HR metrics and deliver insights to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives;
- support talent development initiatives, including leadership capability, employee growth, and succession planning; and
- collaborate across HR functions to ensure alignment and consistency in HR practices throughout the employee lifecycle.
About the Candidate
- bachelors degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field (required);
- minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or generalist HR role, with demonstrated expertise in managing complex employee relations and investigations.
- proven ability to provide coaching, influence stakeholder, and build trusted relationships;
- experience supporting organisational change initiatives, including communication strategies and stakeholder engagement.
- training in conflict resolution or mediation (desirable)
- ability to work autonomously while contributing to a high- performing and collaborative team; and
- current ‘C’ class Drivers Licence (essential).
