About the Role

Reporting to the Warehouse Superintendent, the successful candidate will coordinate freight movements from point of origin through to site, ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively. The role supports site purchasing, warehousing, and transport functions and works closely with contracted transport providers to ensure company requirements are met, performance targets are achieved, and contractual obligations are maintained.

Responsibilities include:

• coordinating inbound freight movements to site, including materials, spares, consumables, equipment, and break‑bulk cargo;
• acting as the primary point of contact for contracted transport providers, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable service delivery;
• liaising closely with the Critical Commodities Scheduler to align freight movements with critical material requirements;
• monitoring freight movements to ensure service levels, scheduling requirements, and turnaround times are achieved;
• managing transport provider safety performance during transit and on‑site unloading, including driver inductions and site familiarisation;
• coordinating freight schedules with site resources to minimise delays, standby costs, and inefficiencies;
• managing transport provider performance, compliance, and billing in line with contractual agreements;
• identifying opportunities for cost reduction, load optimisation, consolidation, and continuous improvement;
• supporting procurement and warehouse teams with logistics planning, urgent freight solutions, returns, and back‑freight movements; and
• participating in shutdown planning to ensure logistics requirements are met.

About the Candidate:

• 3–5 years’ experience coordinating logistics, transport, or freight operations;
• working knowledge of transport regulations, including Chain of Responsibility;
• experience managing domestic trucking operations, including dangerous goods;
• strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules and contractor performance;
• holds a current C Class Driver’s Licence, HR Licence, Forklift ticket, and Working at Heights certification.
