This role ensures that shutdown activities are fully scoped, meticulously planned, adequately resourced, and executed in a safe, timely, and costeffective manner.

Operating with a strong forwardplanning focus, the Maintenance Shutdown Coordinator works months in advance to integrate maintenance, engineering, statutory, and project requirements into cohesive and strategically aligned shutdown programs. During shutdown execution, the role provides oversight of the critical path, manages contractor performance, and actively resolves emerging issues to maintain schedule integrity.   • plan and coordinate shutdown readiness, including contractor engagement, logistics, and formal readiness reviews;
  • manage shutdown execution, including daily progress tracking and schedule control;
  • lead daily shutdown control room meetings and coordinate multiple work fronts;
  • ensure compliance with safety, isolations, confined space entry, and highrisk work permits;
  • control scope changes and resource allocation to maintain schedule and cost targets;
  • provide clear, timely updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and recovery actions;
  • ensure all shutdown work is completed, qualitychecked, and accurately recorded in the CMMS;
  • lead postshutdown reviews and prepare closeout reports, capturing lessons learned and improvement actions; and
  • drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce shutdown duration while maintaining safety and quality standards.

About the Candidate:

  • an experienced professional who thrives in complex, highpressure environments;
  • demonstrates strong technical capability, commercial awareness, and leadership skills, combined with a handson approach to planning and execution;
  • brings strong experience in shutdown planning and scheduling, with proficiency in Microsoft Project or similar tools and a solid understanding of critical path management;
  • has handson expertise in developing detailed shutdown work packs and managing highrisk activities under strict safety and permittowork controls;
  • possesses a strong understanding of statutory inspection requirements and the ability to integrate maintenance, engineering, and capital works into cohesive shutdown programs;
  • an effective leader and communicator, experienced in managing large contractor workforces and leading daily shutdown coordination meetings;
  • maintains a strong safety focus at all times and is comfortable working in environments involving confined space entry, working at heights, and hot work; and
  • is analytical and resultsdriven, with the ability to track progress, manage cost and schedule variance, and ensure accurate shutdown closeout in CMMS systems.
