About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will take ownership of the maintenance function across three crushing circuits, ensuring all equipment and systems operate safely, reliably and in line with site requirements.

As the Superintendent – Crushing, you will lead the coordination and execution of all maintenance activities for crushing, screening and conveying assets, ensuring work is performed in a safe, cost‑effective and environmentally responsible manner.

This is a key leadership position where you will play a critical role in driving equipment performance, delivering maintenance excellence, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the overall operational success of the site.

Responsibilities include:

• coordinating and overseeing all maintenance activities for crushing, screening and conveying equipment, systems and structures;
• reviewing and refining maintenance plans to support equipment reliability and operational performance;
• developing, reviewing and implementing shutdown procedures with a focus on continuous improvement;
• working collaboratively with Maintenance Coordinators and Planners to review and approve maintenance schedules;
• monitoring maintenance processes and equipment performance against operational and engineering standards;
• leading monthly maintenance performance reviews and identifying opportunities for improvement;
• assessing job orders and setting work priorities to ensure efficient, effective workflow;
• planning and coordinating contractor activities, ensuring all work meets contract requirements and safety expectations;
• driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency;
• Supporting maintenance budgeting, cost reviews and monthly reporting to site leadership; and
• managing maintenance contracts, including oversight of contractor performance, approvals and expenditure.

About the Candidate:

• 10+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Superintendent in Crushing, Screening and Conveying operations;
• extensive practical experience working with Metso C160 Jaw Crushers, HP500 Cone Crushers, conveyors and screening equipment;
• strong capability in conveyor belt preventative maintenance and coarse ore transfer chute maintenance, including an understanding of material flow behaviour;
• experience using SAP CMMS or similar systems to support maintenance planning and reporting; 
• proven ability to develop preventative maintenance strategies and schedules;
• a strong understanding of maintenance management systems and reliability‑focused practices;
• excellent ability to prioritise, plan, and schedule maintenance activities in a dynamic operational environment;
• highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships;
• a high level of computer literacy and reporting skills/tools;
• sound knowledge of the Mines Act and relevant regulations;
• well-rounded analytical and problem‑solving abilities;
• strong contract management experience, including overseeing contractor performance; and
• solid understanding of engineering standards and codes, relevant to mineral processing operations.
