About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will play a key leadership role in overseeing the maintenance function across the Wet Mineral Processing Plant. You will be responsible for ensuring pumps, pipelines, filtration systems, mills and classification equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.

As the Maintenance Superintendent – Wet Plant, you will lead the strategic planning and execution of all maintenance activities across the wet processing circuits. You will ensure maintenance work is delivered safely, efficiently and costeffectively, while supporting environmental compliance and operational excellence.

This role provides the opportunity to make a significant impact on plant availability and asset reliability, drive continuous improvement across the plant, and develop a capable and highperforming maintenance team.

Responsibilities include:

  • overseeing the maintenance of crushing, screening and conveying equipment, systems and structures;
  • coordinating and leading maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations;
  • reviewing and optimising maintenance plans and processes to improve equipment performance;
  • developing and implementing shutdown procedures aligned with continuous improvement practices;
  • working with Maintenance Coordinators and Planners to review and approve maintenance schedules;
  • conducting maintenance performance reviews to identify improvement opportunities;
  • planning and coordinating contractor activities to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards;
  • leading continuous improvement initiatives within the Wet Plant maintenance area;
  • assisting with the preparation of annual operating, capital and labour budgets;
  • reviewing maintenance cost performance and investigating variances; and
  • managing maintenance contracts and approving contractor payments and related expenditure.

About the Candidate:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Superintendent within mineral processing plant operations;
  • Extensive practical experience working with Warman slurry pumps, vacuum belt filters, cyclones, HDPE and rubberlined piping, ball mills, sizing screens, magnetic separators, High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR), and conveyor belt systems;
  • strong capability in wet fine ore transfer chute maintenance, with a solid understanding of material flow characteristics;
  • experience using SAP CMMS or similar systems to support maintenance planning and reporting; 
  • proven ability to develop preventative maintenance strategies and schedules;
  • a strong understanding of maintenance management systems and reliabilityfocused practices;
  • excellent ability to prioritise, plan, and schedule maintenance activities in a dynamic operational environment;
  • highly developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships;
  • a high level of computer literacy and reporting skills/tools;
  • sound knowledge of the Mines Act and relevant regulations;
  • well-rounded analytical and problemsolving abilities;
  • strong contract management experience, including overseeing contractor performance; and
  • solid understanding of engineering standards and codes, relevant to mineral processing operations.
