About the Role:
The Manager Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Management plays a critical leadership role in enabling high performance at the Greenbushes Lithium Operation. The position is responsible for providing strategic direction, governance and coaching across occupational health, hygiene, safety, security and emergency management, while supporting operational leaders to embed strong and sustainable safety practices.
This role leads a multidisciplinary team and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, risk reduction and continuous improvement across the operation.
Responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Head of Health & Safety, your responsibilities will include:
- leading a team of health, hygiene, safety, security and emergency management professionals to deliver quality outcomes for operational customers;
- coaching direct and indirect reports to identify individual and team-based learning and development opportunities;
- developing and maintaining productive relationships with operational leaders, regulators, industry and community stakeholders;
- building capability within operational leaders in safety processes and practices;
- developing, implementing and governing strategic safety plans, procedures and systems;
- delivering and coaching risk management and risk assessment practices;
- preparing, managing and monitoring budgets, including effective cost management;
- facilitating and coaching event investigations and safety workshops; and
- actively promoting and role-modelling the Talison Values

You are a confident and experienced health and safety leader with a strong operational mindset and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. You bring sound technical knowledge across health, hygiene, safety, security and emergency management, combined with a collaborative leadership style that builds trust, capability and accountability. You are proactive, adaptable and outcomes-focused, with experience operating in complex and changing environments.
Skills and Experience

- proven capability to build strong, collaborative working relationships to achieve shared objectives;
- demonstrated experience gaining organisational and team commitment through effective interpersonal and influencing skills;

- ability to take initiative and act decisively to achieve business objectives;
- high adaptability when responding to changes in work tasks, processes, structures or workplace environments; and
- experience within the mining or similar heavy or manufacturing industry
The Successful Candidate Will Have the Following Qualifications and Competencies:
The following qualifications are required or desirable for this position:
- Undergraduate degree in a science-based discipline (desirable)
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety (desirable)
Drivers Licence
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
