About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and implementing engineering projects at the Greenbushes operation. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental standards.

You will oversee project planning and execution, manage budgets and documentation, coordinate contractors, and provide technical support across site teams to drive successful project outcomes.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, design, and scheduling of mechanical projects to meet operational objectives;

  • Prepare and present project updates and performance reports to site stakeholders;

  • Monitor project performance against budget and schedule, investigating and resolving variances;

  • Review and validate contractor claims and invoices to ensure cost accuracy and control;

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to support project delivery and technical outcomes;

  • Prepare detailed project documentation including tenders, scopes of work, bills of quantity, and quality assurance plans;

  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess project progress, safety conditions, and address emerging issues;

  • Ensure contractor compliance with site safety protocols and environmental management requirements.

 

  

About the candidate:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering;

  • minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience in a Project Engineering role, preferably brown field;

  • proven ability in planning roles;

  • proven ability in project management;

  • proven ability in personnel supervision;

  • understanding of piping and processing equipment projects;

  • analytical skills to prepare and manage capital budgets/forecasts and analyse cost variance;

  • contract management including preparation of tenders, scopes, bills of quantity, inspection test plans,

  • and quality management;

  • technical experience across mining or mineral processing operations;

  • strong writing skills;

  • strong interpersonal and communication skills;

  • ability to demonstrate effective people management skills;

  • knowledge and ability to interpret mine safety regulations;

  • understanding of safety, health and environmental management systems; and

  • IT literate with emphasis projects planning and Microsoft Suite of programs.
