About the Role
Reporting to the Mining Manager, the successful candidate will lead Mine Control and the effective use of the Fleet Management System for the Greenbushes Lithium Operation, ensuring safe and efficient shift execution, real-time dispatch, accurate production data, effective communication between operating areas, and continuous improvement in fleet utilisation, material movement, grade control support and operational performance.
Join our team on an attractive 5:2 residential roster, with this permanent, full-time opportunity based in the beautiful Greenbushes region. Accommodation options are available, with alternative roster arrangements considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the Mine Control function to support safe, efficient and disciplined execution of the approved mine plan;
- Own the day-to-day performance, governance and continuous improvement of the Fleet Management System, including business rules, dispatch logic, user access, system configuration and data integrity;
- Ensure real-time dispatch decisions optimise truck, excavator, drill and ancillary fleet utilisation while maintaining compliance with safety, traffic management, geotechnical, environmental and operational constraints;
- Coordinate Mine Control communications between pit supervisors, production crews, maintenance, drill and blast, survey, geology, technical services, processing and contractors;
- Monitor shift progress against plan, identify emerging production risks, escalate constraints and support timely corrective actions to minimise delays and production loss;
- Maintain accurate recording and reporting of equipment status, delays, material movements, locations, payloads, cycle times, stockpile movements and other production measures;
- Support ore control, ROM management and stockpile integrity by ensuring material assignments, destinations and movement records are correctly maintained in the Fleet Management System;
- Prepare, review and distribute daily, weekly and monthly production reports, including analysis of utilisation, availability, productivity, delays, downtime and compliance to plan; and
- Develop and maintain Mine Control procedures, communication protocols, shift handover standards, system operating guides and training material.
About the Candidate:
- Significant experience in open pit mining operations, mine control, dispatch, production supervision or operational technology roles;
- Hands-on experience administering or supervising the use of Fleet Management Systems, dispatch platforms, GPS tracking, material movement and production reporting tools;
- Strong understanding of load and haul operations, ROM and stockpile management, drill and blast interfaces, crusher feed requirements and mine plan execution;
- Well-developed leadership, coaching and communication skills with the ability to align mine control, operations, maintenance, technical services and processing stakeholders;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and report writing skills, including the ability to identify trends, investigate downtime and provide clear recommendations; and
- Knowledge of mine safety requirements, traffic management, fatigue management, communications protocols and emergency response arrangements.
