About the Role:

We are excited to announce that we are inviting applications for a new position in alignment with our Mining team – a Mine Production Engineer. Reporting into the Senior Planning Engineer, the primary focus of this position is to facilitate effective implementation of open pit mining plans, schedules and projects, whilst providing specialist advisement to business units and teams across site.

The position is of crucial importance to Talison and a great opportunity for skills, experience, and influence to be applied to support the delivery of Talison’s strategic priorities.

This a residential role, based at our Greenbushes Lithium Operation, on an 8:6 (10hr days) roster. Company accommodation is on offer, but you must be prepared to live and work within our beautiful Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes during your swings.

Responsibilities include:

• On a daily and as required basis visit all mining areas to review production and safety conditions and address specific mining issues;
• Chair the daily mine production meeting and review the day’s plan;
• Carry out planning, design and scheduling activities for production and associated aspects of the Open Pit mine, including the rolling 2 week plan and provide planning guidance up to a month;
• Monitor and report on performance against Medium Term Plans and the Mining Budget;
• Liaise with the Drill and Blast Engineer and Drill & Blast Contractor to ensure efficient blasting within the mine plan;
• Drainage and haul road intersection designs; and
• Provide technical direction and help coordinate the Open Pit Mining Contractor.

About the Candidate:
The following qualification/s and competencies are considered critical for this position:

• Formal Engineering, Geology or Surveying qualification - Required;
• Mining Engineering degree - Highly desirable;
• Quarry Manager’s Certificate- Highly desirable;
• Apply First Aid Certificate; and
• Current unrestricted ‘C’ class Drivers licence.

The incumbent should have the following skills and/or experience:

• Knowledge of mine economics, mine safety and environmental requirements;
• Analytical skills to assist Budget and forecasts preparation and analysis; and
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer literacy skills.
