About the Role:
Are you a driven engineering professional with a passion for equipment reliability and performance? Talison Lithium is seeking a Rotating Equipment Engineer to support our Fixed Plant Maintenance Department at the Greenbushes operation. Reporting to the Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, this role provides specialised engineering expertise in the areas of regulatory compliance, defect elimination, asset performance improvement, and asset health. Duties of the role
- management and development of new and existing asset health strategies and tactics;
- providing technical expertise and guidance for the safe operation and maintenance of rotating equipment, providing input into key decisions on asset condition, strategy, process control;
- identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues with rotating equipment to minimise downtime and ensure optimal performance;
- developing and implementing maintenance strategies including preventative maintenance programs, to drive rotating equipment reliability initiatives;
- overseeing the installation and commissioning of new rotating equipment, ensuring proper alignment, and adherence to safety standards;
- collaborate with the maintenance team, major projects, and vendors to ensure best practices; and
- provide the fixed plant maintenance department with engineering troubleshooting & mentoring support either directly or by coordinating the input of engineering specialists.
About the Candidate:
The following qualification/s are considered desirable tor this position
- tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering; and
- minimum VCAT II Vibration Analysis
The candidate should ideally have the following skills and/or experience:
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role with familiarity with fixed plant assets and materials handling systems Including Crushers, Mills, HPGRs and Screens;
- previous experience in the application of maintenance strategy & tactics of rotating equipment gained within relevant industry, including Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) application and failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA);
- experience with AMS machinery manager desirable;
- strong knowledge of lubrication fundamentals, fluid properties, tribology principles, contamination control, and proper application methods;
- working knowledge of mechanical seals, bearings, gearboxes, couplings, and alignment techniques for rotating machinery;
- knowledge and understanding of International and Australian Standards, plus industrial safety, engineering standards and codes;
- strong in technical writing and technical report development;
- a collaborative team player, who openly supports the groups Reliability initiatives and systems of work;
- proficient use of CMMS systems such as SAP, AX or other similar software; and
- ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with other members of the maintenance team and across other departments within the business.
