About the Role:

 

The Security & Emergency Management Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure and healthy work environment across site operations. This position provides joint leadership to security officers, occupational health nurses, emergency services officers (ESO) and emergency response volunteers, ensuring effective security, medical treatment, and emergency preparedness and response capabilities. The role is integral to business continuity and directly influences operational practices and service delivery outcomes.

This role has a 12 hour, 8/6 roster with a back to back. Village accommodation available if required.

 

Responsibilities include:

The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • provide leadership for the security services, emergency management and occupational health nurse teams across site and village;
  • lead and maintain emergency response capability across the site;
  • manage emergency response readiness, including Security, ESO and ERT shift coverage;
  • recruit, onboard and support Security personnel, Occupational Health Nurses, ESO’s and ERT members;
  • manage budgets and financial aspects relating to security, medical treatment and emergency response services;
  • supervise Drug and Alcohol monitoring activities;
  • supervise, conduct and report on emergency drills and exercises;
  • facilitate incident investigations to achieve effective root cause analysis as required;
  • audit contractor OHS systems against site emergency preparedness standards;
  • leading the continuous improvement of emergency management and security processes; and
  • coach operational personnel in emergency processes.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and safety-focused leader with strong technical capability, excellent people skills and experience operating in high-risk, operational environments. You will demonstrate strong leadership capability, sound judgement in emergency situations, and the ability to engage and influence a diverse workforce. A commitment to continuous improvement, compliance and best practice in security, clinical treatment and emergency management is essential. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with their back-to-back.

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

The incumbent should have the following skills and/or experience:

  • relevant experience in mining and processing operations;
  • well-developed hazard identification and risk assessment skills aligned to the mining industry;
  • strong coaching, influencing and advocacy skills; and
  • proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, databases and word processing applications

 

 

The Successful Candidate Will Have the Following Qualifications and Competencies:

 The following qualifications are required or desirable for this position:

 

Required:

  • RII30713 – Certificate III in Mines Rescue & Emergency Response
  • Current “HR” Class Driver’s Licence
  • Cert IV in Pre-Hospital Care or equivalent

 

Desirable:

  • PMAWHS311 – Lead Emergency Teams
  • TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • AIIMS awareness
  • HLTAT005 – Accredited Drug and Alcohol Screening
