 About the Role

Talison Lithium is seeking a qualified and experienced HV Electrical Engineer to take on a pivotal leadership position responsible for the safe and compliant operation of high voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure across site. This role also includes statutory responsibilities as the Appointed Electrical Supervisor/Electrical Nominee, ensuring all systems meet regulatory standards. You will work closely with planning and maintenance teams to ensure maximum availability, reliability, and performance of critical electrical assets. This is a permanent, full-time position, working on a 5:2 Roster located in Greenbushes, offered as either DIDO or residential. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • supervise installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment across site infrastructure
  • provide technical leadership and support to internal teams and stakeholders
  • act as the appointed Statutory Electrical Supervisor/Electrical Nominee as required
  • develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies for HV assets
  • ensure compliance with all relevant electrical standards and legislative requirements
  • prepare reports for statutory authorities and ensure incident notifications are managed appropriately
  • assist in developing annual maintenance budgets and managing capital forecasts
  • oversee work planning and scheduling in collaboration with planning teams
  • lead continuous improvement through asset performance reviews and lean maintenance principles
  • engage with external consultants and internal departments to uphold electrical best practices and
  • act in the role of Infrastructure Electrical Superintendent during periods of absence.

 

About the Candidate

We are looking for an Snr. HV Electrical Engineer with a passion for safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. With a strong background in high voltage systems and infrastructure, you're confident working autonomously and leading maintenance teams in a regulated environment. You bring over a decade of hands-on experience and the qualifications to perform a statutory supervisory role in WA’s mining sector. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

 

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering (essential)
  • Certificate IV in Leadership & Management
  • Electrical Nominee certification (desirable)
  • over 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within HV environments
  • strong expertise in HV transmission and distribution networks, including fault rectification
  • proficiency in PLC, Citect, and field instrumentation
  • sound knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and safety legislation
  • skilled in developing maintenance strategies and managing contractor performance
  • proven ability to work autonomously and lead technical teams effectively and
  • excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.

 

Licences & Competencies:

  • Current C Class Driver’s Licence;
  • HV Switching Operators Certificate;
  • Certifications in First Aid, LVR/CPR, and S26 training and
  • Eligible to be appointed as Electrical Supervisor under the Health and Safety Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022.
