About the Role

Reporting to the Metallurgical Superintendent, the successful candidate will manage  a team of plant metallurgists providing support to multiple lithium processing facilities to ensure products are produced within specification, safely and efficiently, while achieving agreed production targets. This role is responsible for optimising plant performance, improving operational efficiencies and providing leadership and development to the metallurgical team.

This position is offered on an 8:6 roster, working 10-hour shifts, with camp accommodation available in our newly established facilities for drive-in, drive-out (DIDO) candidates.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring production performance against targets and budget
• Preparing and reviewing production reports
• Optimising metallurgical processes to improve plant performance and recovery
• Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
• Supporting product quality through collaboration with key stakeholders
• Leading, mentoring and developing members of the metallurgical team
• Maintaining high safety and housekeeping standards
• Assisting with operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives

About the Candidate:

• Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum five years' experience in a metallurgical role
• Proven ability to achieve production targets in a processing environment
• Strong understanding of mineralogy and metallurgical processes
• Experience analysing sampling and production data
• Sound knowledge of risk management, safety regulations and safe work practices
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
