About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Support Coordinator, the successful candidate will supervise various maintenance activities across the plant, in accordance with statutory regulations, to repair and maintain all company owned equipment in the processing plants at Greenbushes Operations (Greenbushes, Site, Mine). This is a permanent full-time position working an attractive 7:7 Day shift roster.
 
Responsibilities include:
•    interpret company policies to the team and enforce safety regulations;
•    interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to the team and assigns duties;
•    suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew;
•    ensure that cost effective maintenance is achieved by deriving and implementing the most appropriate maintenance and replacement options;
•    ensure work is carried out within budgeted parameters;
•    identify skills required to meet maintenance requirements and ensure the availability of those skills;
•    recruitment, deployment, promotion and performance of staff within established levels and approved procedures;
•    deployment and supervision of contract labour and services;
•    on a needs basis relieve for the maintenance coordinator;
•    on an annual basis, ensure that the performance of the team is assessed, and feedback provided to them;
•    on a daily basis, carry out a workplace inspection;
•    on an annual basis, assist with the preparation of the maintenance capital and shutdown cost budgets;
•    on a needs basis, create purchase requests for spare parts and supplies;
•    interpret work schedules and assign workers to specific duties;
•    on a needs basis, compare invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received;
•    record repair time expended by the team;
•    inspect facilities and equipment to determine need and extent of service, equipment required, and type and number of operation and maintenance personnel needed;
•    assign workers to duties such as maintenance, repair, or renovation;
•    on a needs basis prepare tools, equipment and parts for use on shift;
•    participate in the maintenance work planning cycle; and
•    report on maintenance work activities and KPI results.
 
 
About the Candidate
The incumbent should have the following skills and/or experience:
•    Mechanical Fitting, Boiler making, or Electrical Trade Certificate;
•    minimum of 5 years post trade experience in mineral processing industry;
•    must have proven problem solving, team development and facilitation skills;
•    must have experience with computerised maintenance management systems and planning;
•    must have exposure to safety management and safety performance systems;
•    must have experience in budgeting and cost control systems;
•    familiar with PC driven software;
•    good management and communication skills;
•    current ‘C’ class Drivers Licence; and
•    eligible to be appointed as a Maintenance Shift Supervisor under the new Health and Safety Act 2020; and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
