Talent Acquisition Specialist

 

Reporting to the Superintendent – People Operations, this role provides both strategic direction and hands on delivery, ensuring consistent, high quality and values aligned recruitment practices across the Company.

The Talent Acquisition Specialist works closely with leaders, internal teams and external partners to design and implement sourcing and attraction strategies that build strong talent pipelines, elevate the candidate experience and strengthen workforce capability. The role also provides leadership and guidance to the recruitment team, fostering a supportive and high performing environment and building team capability in delivering high quality recruitment outcomes.

This position contributes to recruitment governance, continuous improvement initiatives and workforce insights that inform decision making and enable sustainable organisational growth.

It is preferred that the incumbent is living locally, however we will provide camp accommodation for Perth based candidates who are willing to do a 4:3 roster from Perth.

Key Responsibilities

  • lead the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle across operational, technical and professional roles, ensuring timely, consistent and high-quality delivery;
  • provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the recruitment team, fostering a supportive and high performing environment;
  • partner with leaders to understand workforce needs and provide expert recruitment advice, insights and guidance;
  • design and implement sourcing strategies, attraction initiatives and talent pipelines that support sustainable workforce growth;
  • deliver a seamless and engaging onboarding experience that reflects Talison’s values and supports new employees to settle successfully;
  • strengthen recruitment systems, processes and documentation to support consistency, governance and defensibility;
  • support diversity, equity and inclusion objectives through fair, transparent and values aligned recruitment practices;
  • track, analyse and report on recruitment metrics to support data informed decision making;
  • manage relationships with internal teams and external partners;
  • collaborate across the People function to ensure supportive, integrated and consistent service delivery; and
  • contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance recruitment practice and candidate experience.

Qualifications and Capabilities

  • tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent recruitment experience (required);
  • demonstrated experience in end-to-end recruitment across operational, technical and professional portfolios;
  • demonstrated capability to lead, coach and develop a recruitment team in a supportive and high performing environment;
  • experience establishing and enhancing recruitment processes, talent pipelines and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • strong sourcing capability, including market insights and attraction strategies;
  • experience improving recruitment documentation and system use;
  • sound understanding of recruitment best practice, compliance obligations and employment legislation;
  • excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships;
  • ability to work independently while contributing to a high performing, collaborative People team;
  • strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence (required); and
  • Provide First Aid certificate (desirable).
