About the Role
Reporting to the Training Manager, the Training Superintendent will lead Talison's Training and Development function, driving the development of individual and organisational capability across the Greenbushes Lithium Operation.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring training and competency systems are effective, well-governed and aligned with organisational objectives, with a strong focus on safety, technical and process-related training.
You will lead a high-performing team, build strong relationships across the organisation and translate strategic objectives into practical learning initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities include
- Lead and continuously improve Talison's Training and Development Governance Framework and competency systems.
- Lead the development, review and maintenance of training programs aligned with organisational objectives.
- Oversee training needs analysis, program development and training schedules across all training streams.
- Oversee the development and implementation of engaging training materials, including online and virtual learning solutions.
- Monitor training standards and outcomes, using stakeholder feedback and data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver integrated and effective learning and development programs.
- Prepare and present strategic plans, reports, analytics, budgets and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
- Lead, coach and mentor the Training and Development team to build capability, collaboration and high performance.
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive experience in a senior Learning and Development or Training leadership role within a complex and dynamic environment.
- Experience within the mining, resources or another high-risk industry.
- Proven experience leading and developing a learning and development team.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Learning Management Systems, with SAP SuccessFactors experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience in learning governance, including training systems, processes and compliance.
- Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into learning initiatives and programs that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Knowledge of Western Australia's Work Health and Safety legislation as it applies to training governance.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, monitoring and cost management.
- Strong problem-solving, project management and organisational skills, with a focus on accountability and delivery.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- A positive, proactive approach with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
- Diploma or tertiary qualification in Training, Vocational Education, Business, Management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Current First Aid certification and C-class driver's licence.
