About the Role:
We are excited to announce that we are inviting applications for a new position in our Information Systems and Technology (IST) team – a Portfolio Lead / Business Analyst. Reporting to the IST Planning Manager, the successful candidate will be working to define, scope, and assist in the delivery of outcomes to provide value to the business and support our rapid growth. Our IST remit includes selection, implementation and support of business information systems, production critical systems and supporting infrastructure. This includes process control systems (PCS), mining systems, data management, analytics and reporting, technology standards and governance, communications/networking, and cybersecurity.
IST works closely with business stakeholders to continuously improve how technologies support business activities, as well as control and strengthen decision making associated with mining operations, maintenance, and support services. The strategy is to develop clear outcomes based on close consultation with stakeholders and an excellent understanding of the business needs and, technology capabilities and limitations.
This is a role within our Perth office, full time at standard office hours (averaging 37.5 hours per week). Some travel to our Greenbushes Site Operations will be required and accommodation is provided where needed.
Responsibilities include:

Engage with business partners and stakeholders to facilitate the capture and documentation of business requirements

Analyse business problems and translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements

Help resolve competing priorities between stakeholder groups by facilitating discussions and escalating issues where appropriate

Understand strategic business needs and plans for growth

Identify areas where technology may improve business processes

Document current state processes to understand inefficiencies or gaps and map to future state processes

Create business process models, functional and non-functional requirements documentation, and project documentation to support system implementation

Provide advice and input into portfolio project prioritisation and roadmap activities, and guidance to project delivery teams during the project lifecycle

Assisting the Portfolio Manager as and when required
About the Candidate:
The following qualification/s, skills and experience are considered desirable for this position:

Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or related discipline

Five (5) years in business analysis or related position, preferably in the mining industry

Experience with engaging business partners and stakeholders from non-technical and technical backgrounds to facilitate, document and prioritise requirements

Ability to determine the explicit and implicit needs and requirements of various stakeholders and apply operational and customer-centric approach to decision making

Confidence in stakeholder management with the ability to adapt communication style to suite different situations, while articulating ideas, new concepts, thoughts, and information effectively

Strong problem resolution, negotiation and influencing skills

Ability to quickly learn the objectives, structures, operations, and policies of a new business area

Experience creating documentation such as business cases or business requirements summaries

Adaptability and willingness to work both independently and as part of a team, and learn new skills
