About the Role
As the Maintenance Planner (Infrastructure), you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure infrastructure assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Working closely with Infrastructure Coordinators, Operations, and Maintenance teams, you will play a key role in improving asset reliability, reducing reactive maintenance, and ensuring the integrity of maintenance data within the CMMS.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and scheduling preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Reviewing maintenance notifications and converting approved requests into detailed work orders.
- Coordinating labour, materials, equipment, and contractor requirements for planned work.
- Supporting maintenance execution to maximise asset availability and reliability.
- Facilitating maintenance planning and scheduling meetings with stakeholders.
- Monitoring maintenance performance and providing regular status reports.
- Ensuring spare parts and materials are available for scheduled maintenance activities.
- Maintaining accurate asset, work order, and maintenance history data within the CMMS.
- Managing maintenance plans, master data updates, and work order administration.
- Raising purchase requisitions, material reservations, and service entry documentation.
- Monitoring maintenance costs and assisting with budget planning and cost control.
- Analysing maintenance trends and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintaining work procedures and equipment Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Supporting shutdown planning and major maintenance activities.
About the Candidate:
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience in planning and scheduling maintenance for infrastructure assets, light vehicle fleets, and mobile mining equipment within a mining, resources, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of preventative and corrective maintenance planning practices.
- Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, Pronto, Maximo, MEX, or equivalent.
- Sound understanding of asset management and maintenance work management processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working closely with operations, maintenance, procurement, and finance teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Relevant trade, technical, engineering, or maintenance-related qualifications.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement, reliability, and cost optimisation.
- Minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in the relevant field - mineral processing, mining, or heavy industry.
Competencies:
The incumbent should have the following competencies:
- Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Trade certificate
- Planning Training Modules 1 and 2.
- Apply First Aid certification (desirable)
